Alexia Massey, Licensed Clincial Social Worker
Committed to Therapeutic Excellence
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a therapist here at Safe Passage Counseling. I graduated from Utah Valley University in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in social work and in 2021 with a master’s degree in social work.

Mental health can affect so many areas of your life, and I want to support and validate you through life’s struggles. I love helping people learn skills to manage anxiety, depression, and a variety of other issues. I know what it’s like to be lost, scared, and feel alone. I also know what it’s like to wish for help and not be able to access it. I never want anyone to feel that way, which is why I became a therapist. I want you to know that you don’t have to face your struggles alone.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of therapy. I want therapy to feel natural, authentic, and safe. I also believe clients can determine for themselves which parts of therapy will be useful and which won’t. I won’t solve your problems for you, but I am here with you, to challenge you, help you, teach you, listen to you, encourage you, and be with you when you really need someone.
I have training in EMDR and Cognitive Processing Therapy, treatments specifically designed to help individuals struggling with PTSD, and to change thought patterns and feelings regarding traumatic experiences that contribute to PTSD symptoms. I am also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which is an effective treatment for those struggling with controlling their emotions, dysfunction in relationships, and various other issues.
When I am not working, I love coming home and relaxing on the porch with a good book. Fantasy is my favorite genre but from time to time I like a really good mystery or sci-fi book. I am also a movie connoisseur. I watch almost any scary/thriller movie I can get my hands on, good or bad. I also need a good laugh and enjoy romantic comedies as well. I am an avid animal lover. I’ve had animals at home for as long as I can remember. Currently I have two kitties that I adore. My husband and I love getting out and going to the movies, or finding a new restaurant to try. If therapy wasn’t my calling, I would love to work with animals!
